I'm thinking of upgrading an old pentium 75 for my little girl who is 7yrs, old without spending too much money.
I saw a Cyrix MediaGx-266 mb with onboard sound and video for about $100.
I am curious to know if anyone had any experience with this type of board/processor.

I've built a couple of these systems, they are decent for web surfing and old games. Their video uses 2 meg of sys mem which is slow, and the audio doesn't sound the greatest in the world. For a few more dollars (around $200) you would be better picking up a super7 m/b, with a k6-2 300, an i740 AGP video card, and a SB-16 compatible sound card. I still push quite a few of this type of setup for my low end customers. The MediaGX was a great idea, but in actual use, it's just too slow.
These kids play alot of games, and most of these kid games are resource hungry.
I think i'll take your advice.
Thanks.
