What is the best way to install a Abit BX-6
rev. 2.0 to a INwin a500 case without shoring something? I'm new to this and would like some kind of step by step instructions if possible.

I'm not familiar with your case, but assuming it is an ATX form factor item, the process is not difficult.

Locate the little hex stand-offs in each hole that corresponds to the board. Usually there is one in the bottom/rear corner that is an insulated stranger.

Once the mobo is attached to the stand-offs, plug in the many connections that interface the system, and install the CPU and SDRAM.

Some things - LEDs &c - are polarized. If they don't work, reverse the connector. The basic things - power & reset switches don't care. Drive cables need to be correct. Some cannot be reversed, but some can. Try to match the identified side of the ribbon with the indicated Pin 1 of the mobo and the drive. A backwards floppy cable will light the LED continuously. A backwards HDD cable will spin up the drive but not function.

Most of the above will get you where you want to go. There may be some subtle 'oops' lurking in the weeds, trying to 'gotcha'. Damage is unlikely, patience and curiosity prevail.

Good Luck, post your puzzles. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
