I have an old AT tower case that I want to upgrade with an abit bx6 II motherboard. Must I change the power supply, if so what should I buy. Also can I still use my ide hard drives with this board.

All you need is an ATX PS - about $35 - and some SDRAM.

The rest should be no problem. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

A few special cases can take either AT or ATX motherboards but the standard AT case will not take an ATX motherboard even if you change the PSU. Apart from anything else, the cut-outs at the back of the case are different.

Assuming you've got a mid-sized tower with 7 slots at the back, 2 3-1/2 and 3 5-1/4 bays in front, which is what i've got, yes you can put an atx mobo into the at-case.

Yeah, i know what you're thinking. Shouldn't have bought the at-case right?

Well, i've got the at-case also.
I've got the el cheapo houston AT mobo, and am gonna throw that piece a junk out the window and get myself an abit bh6 mobo.

I've got the 266 celery with pc66 ram.
Before i buy the new atx power supply and abit mobo, i want to know if there are any compatibility issues with running pc66 ram on 100mhz fsb?

does most pc66 ram run on the abit bh6 mobo, or is that board really picky?

Most of you guys got the 300a, it's rare to find anybody with a c266.
those who have overclocked their c266, can you guys post some benchmark results?

Specifically, i want to know the FINAL REALITY benchmark results for the c266 at 400? 448? 496?

Sorry my post is so long, but hope you'll give me some feedback.

THANKS IN ADVANCE.
