Epox mvp3E and win98??

I just put together a PC MVP3e MB amd k6 400
128 MEG pc100 RAM Quantum 104 el Ide hd and when it boots up once you see the win98 logo
it takes 105 seconds to ge to desktop. Any ideas

well...its about 400 seconds faster then my bootup to Win95 (but my comp really can't compare cause its got a 200 pentium pro in it)

105 after you see the 98 logo hmmm that is kinda slow i have a K6-2 366 @ 400 and 64 megs pc 100 ram and it only takes like 130 secs from power on to desktop. How much stuff is in your autoexe.bat? Opening alot of apps to start is the only thing that i can think of to be slowing it down that bad.

if you have a network card there will be a long pause in middle of boot up. there is with mine much faster booting without it.

I had this same problem with a pci sound card I had. The goofy thing was sitting there trying to sort out IRQ's. Maybe this is your problem too, I think I fixed it by setting the IRQ in the bios or changing the settings the sound card was going to in the autoexec and config files.
