I have a Hewlett Packard Pavilian 8140. It's a pentium MMX 200 CPU. I want to upgrade to an ABIT BX6 version 2 motherboard. My current motherboard an Asus VX doesn't have an AGP port (AGP wasn't invented), and I want to know since my case was built for this motherboard, if the agp port will actually be able to hold a card in it. I don't think there are any ready made slot on the back of the case for the card to stick out (havn't bought the motherboard yet, figured this out by looking at specs of the mb and looking at my case) What would I have to do to make the slot, cut out the metal case back, and cut part of the case covering?

It's time for a new case. The ATX form factor is a whole new game. There are lots of cheap choices at www.pricewatch.com (http://www.pricewatch.com)

You also will be buying new RAM. The best indicator of performance beyond 100MHz is CAS Latency of 2 i.e., CL2 (usually wrongly called CAS2). The vendors play games with nanosecond numbers. Some chips with low numbers still are CL3.

On the other hand, I just ran some tests of "premium 66" RAM from about one year ago (long before Intel imposed the PC-100 standard) and it was solid at 112. CL2 usually tests at 133 and might go beyond that. Part of your reason for buying the BX6-2 is its eye to the future. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
