I need a good Dual Diaplay card. I am currently looking at the ATI Radeon VE. Is this a good card. I have 1 19in CRT and a 15in Flat Pannel LCD and want to use them together in a more efficient way, Right now i have the CRT hooked into my AGP Geforce2mx400 and the LCD into a PCI 8meg card. Right now i cant only play my games on the CRT and sometimes swithching between windows dosent work quite right. Is the ATI a good all-around card. Would it perform as well as my geforce2mx during games? I also here about people buying the Radeon LE and overclocking it and adding registry entries to make is as good as 64mb DDR Radeon. Can i do the same with the Radeon VE?

ohh. yeah. what is a DVI adapter. The card comes two ways. One with the adapter and without. Theres a 20 price difference so i was just wondering.
And by the way my LCD has the same connector as my CRT(i know some have special digital connectors)

I've been using a Matrox G-450 Dual Head card (32 MB DDR) with a 19" flat display and 17" display. Costs about $85. I'm very satisfied with it.

Yeh u should be able to use the single card instead without switching problems. DVI is Digital Video input I believe. U have do decide whether it's worth it or not. The LE performs like a 32mb DDr card when o/ced and hacked. However no u can't do that with a VE. The VE has no T&L unit installed and has had a pipeline removed as well. The LE only has the T&L disabled, it also has hyperZ disabled with is easily re-enabled. It's also underclocked to 148/148 which can be easily clocked back up to 166/166 and even 183/183 most of the time.

The VE shouldn't perform equal with an MX, should be comparable to a TNT2 Ultra I'd say. Might wanna have a look at Matrox like brangwen suggested, although they aren't great for gaming by any means but should be adequate.

I am using Radeon VE now. I like it. About games depends on the games http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif. about the adapter if the connector on your lcd is the same as on the crt you will need it. the card comes with a connector built in for tv, digital out, and crt out. The adapter converts the digital out to crt connector. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

The Matrox G450 will generally give you a sharper picture at higher resolutions (1280x1024 +) because it has a faster RAMDAC. Matrox is known for the best 2D perforance on the market.

The Radeon VE will perform better with 3D applications, which will be important if you are going to use WindowsXP (due to reliance on DirectX 8.1) or games.

I have both cards and recommend the Matrox for business applications and the Radeon for home applications.

By the way, some companies make a dual display GeForce MX, which may be the best choice for you because it sounds like games are the most important factor.

Cyber Laywer, I do not think the MX Dual Displays are "true" Dual Displays, because the second display is actually the TV-Out. At least thats the way it is with my Hercules Prophet 3D II DD, I assume it's that way for other brands, since the GeForce models are usually universal.

Matrox Millenium G400,450, or 550 dual. Great cards.
