I just bought Promise ATA 66 card and install it in my Abit BX6-2 mainboard. When I boot-up the system, there is a message appear "ultra66 bios is not installed" and the pc boot up to windows98, windows98 detect the card and asked for the card driver. I install the driver that comes with the card but after rebooting the system.. the above message still appeared and there is a yellow exclamation mark appear at my system device manager.. indicating that the driver of the card is not correct. I did try to install them several time and even go to the extent of replacing with a new card and downloading the driver from the internet but it seems useless.. kindly if anyone who has encounter similar problem and manage to solve them.. please help me.

Gamaray are you installing a modified card or none modified?
I got something similar with an unmodified card double checked and card wasn't seated in the pci slot correctly.

Yep, I had that problem. All it means is that you do not have a drive plugged into it. Found a FAQ site somewhere or other. you do not actually have to use the install disk.
just plug a drive into it & I'm sure all will be well.

Hi!! KRUSTY.. you mean I have to connect a ATA66 Harddisk drive to the card first and then install the dirver of the card and only then the card will work? You mean I can't test the card with just installing it by itself on the mainboard without any drive attached to it?.. well that is stange?!
Thanks!! I will try them and let you know the result once I have a ATA66 harddisk!!
Thanks!! Guys.. all of you are a great help!!.
