no sound capturing video or TV

Installed an ATI TV wonder. Things are fine except for no sound during playback of a copied clip but sound is ok when watching it before copying. So I said hmmmm. I took the cable connecting my VCR to the TV and connected that to the capture card. The vcr tapes play and sound fine but no sound when I playback a copied clip. Am I missing something

all set. I changed the sound source in ATI software settings. I'm not able to mute the sound from ATI program but that's an easy trade off.

How did you get your vid card to capture? I really am lost. I put the ATI in, installed the drivers, and then installed the multi media center. But, I do not know how to make the video card work with my cam corder? I mean, I know there must be a place where you configure the input device, but I can not figure out how. If you wouldnt mind, can you please tell me how to configure my input device ( cam corder)
