All the time I heard about overclock Geforce card. I wonder it is possible to overclock an ATI RAge mobility card ? I have 2 computer. 1 have Geforce 2 Ultra while the other one has a ATI RAge mobility 8MB card. I wanto tweak the best performance for that card so that I can Play CS on it. Without any tweaking it is running about 20-30 fps at 800x600. So is there a way to overclock the ATI card ? What is the memory of that card anyway ?

Overclocking mobile graphicws chipsets is not a good idea, as the factory cooling is often just barely enough to pass spec in the first place.

I recommend downloading the latest DirectX 8 RageLTman hacked drivers from here:

http://www.soundcardcentral.com/downloads/rageltman/dx8drc2.zip

I've been using these with my notebook for several weeks now with no real probs to noet. Performance is greatly improved as compared to the latest official ATI release, plus DirectX 8 is supported. Read the instructions carefully, as this is not a simple point and click installation routine. To set it up, first open setup.htm, and configure the driver to your needs. DO NOT simply launch setup.exe as you will suffer some very serious problems.

Donno about the drivers Rob suggested to use, since I don't have Rage card here, but you can tweak some of your card's settings including core/memory speeds using PowerStrip utility.
Yet, o/cing Rage Mobility could be dangerous since it doesn't have any cooling, but the main reason is that you won't get any sufficient performance gain, maximum you can expect is 2-5fps more when the card is o/ced to it's limits http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif
