I was reading up on the Intel Itanium on this site and it mentioned coppermine processors.I hadn't heard this term before
Could someone tell me what it means?

A processor that Intel designed to run with copper inerconnects. Problem is they have not been able to pull it off properly in practice. for this reason it is a processor that still runs with aluminum interconnects.

So, Coppermine is a processor that you can currently buy that should be called Aluminummine.
