19" vs 17" FD

what do you think is better a 19" monitor or a 17" flat screen, like the sony trinitrons

Well for me personally, I like the size. I do some programming for school projects and stuff and I like to see as much of it as possible and the extra size really helps. It all depends on whether you are really going to be paying attention to the crisp detail or want it to look bigger.

It will all depend on your application and, most importantly, budget.

Barring ceilings for the budget, the 19" would definitely be the one.

Personally, I wouldn't notice a graphical distance between a good 19" and that 17" monitor. Then again, I don't do graphics work.

I would definately take the 19" over the 17" flat screen anyday. It's a pretty good size difference.

My home monitor is a 19" KDS 19sn. I'd take it any day of the week over my 17" flat screen trinitron monitor that I have at work.

If you were discussing 19 vs. 21, that'd be a different story. I'd take a high quality flat screen 19" over a similarly priced regular 21".

For sure go with the 19" monitor, unless you are looking to save a few bucks.
