well the lack of TnL capabilities will hinder it (and 3dmark 2k1 is REALLY intensive).
I still use 3dmark 2k.

The only card that 3dmark 2001 really acurately benches right now is the GeForce 3. It uses all those fancy features...

Don't worry about the 3dmark score right now.! The kyro doesn't have t&l so it will score low but you will see that when playing games, the performance is very good.!

Celeron + non t&l card was why u got not such a good score. But the kyro 2 kicks! I hate this about 3dmark, they only test the newest technologies with every new release. I think you should use 3dmark 2000, but i'm not sure if they will also judge on t&l. Then use 99, you'll probably get like 10000!

thanks for your replies.

the fps i got in 3dmark 2001 specially in high details were very low.

i get the same in "rally championship 2000" my frame rates are a bit slow.

is this a reason to upgrade my cpu to p3 1ghz?

hi everyone.

i just bought the hercules 3d prophet 4500 with the kyro ii chipset.

i downloaded 3dmark 2001 and run the benchmark and got the score of 948 points. is this good enough? are there any tweaks adjustments that i can use?

my system: abit vh6-ii, cel 700mhz, 512mb ram, 30gb wd caviar ata 100, soundblaster live!

thanks in advance

I would say nope to that. At anything above about 800X600 your frame rate depends a lot more on the video card than the CPU. If you don't like your frame rate in that Benchmark, then don't use the benchmark. You don't play a benchmark.

I got a standard KYRO and I score 1500 3Dmarks with my D750. With overclocking I get just shy of 2G. HAve you got the latest prophet drivers, most people got around 3500 with the KYROII I think. Not sure though, been a while since I've had 3Dmark2001.

Well, I think he should definitely get more but since 3dmark2001 was made with the GeForce in mind...

Maybe it could be your AGP settings or something.!
Have you checked the BIOS and set the AGP to 4x?
Are you sure you have fast writes enabled?
Sideband Addressing enabled?

etc..!!

Also, there are some kyro utilities right now so head to:

http://www.tweakfiles.com head to the video section and download some.!

After all these changes, run the benchmarks again and see if there's an improvement.!

you can enable it in NVMAX so i assume if there was a kyro equivalent thn it would be there

The Kyro drivers should enable sideband addressing by default. Find and download "PCI list" it will show you if it is infact enabled.

KyroII's seem to have lots of problems interacting with old drivers so a clean up of whatever those were may help. Also see which IRQ it is using and what it is sharing with,if at all possible IRQ11 and not shared except for its IRQ holding. Any updates you can find for your chipset/agp controller can also help.

Unfortunatly the rumor I just started to spread or rather am about to is,the next driver set is waiting on DX8.1 final. There has actually been hints that DX8.1 will be a panacia for the KyroII and a driver set will be released to take full advantage of it.

All that said the first replies are right 3D#2k1 is a showcase for T&L and DX8 cards like the GF3(the only one). Sofar though nothing in the real game world has shown as drastic a difference as 3D#2k1. Even games like Max Payne that use 3D#2k1 benches as a recomended hardware guide are playing fine with a KyroII but your scores are a touch low. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif
