I currently use a Leadtek Winfast Geofrce 3 wich i purchased last week. I was wondering which would be the best drivers to use under win 98 se.
I currently use the drivers downloaded from the leadtek site, and i was wondering if i should change to the current 14.xx detonator drivers.

Well unless you have a TV-out, DVI or other features the Det's will run fine. They'll give you greater performance but you can have trouble with the cards extra features which det's don't usually use well.

Whoah! what the hell! i installed my cards drivers (fround on the leadtek site..) and to my surprise, with my geforce 3, 800mhz t-bird, 512mb pc-2100 ddr ram from crucial, ibm 40gb 60gxp hdd, and epox 8k7a+ mobo i was getting 15-25 fps in 3dmark2001's first test! the low detail truck racing one! thats horrible!. I installed the detonator drivers that were suggested and the same thing happened. Whats going on?!

Have you checked your AGP settings in the BIOS and inside Windows.???
Make sure you are running at AGP4x!
Aperture size 128mb or more.
Sideband Adressing Enabled
Fast Writes Enable.!
Make sure you have FSAA turned off.!!
There are some tweaking utilities for the geforce cards.!!
Check http://www.tweakfiles.com
and check if your settings are alright.!!

fanman, also try updating your motherboard drivers. I had the same problem then I updated my motherboard drivers and my 3DMark2001 score more than tripled!!! Depending on you motherboard, it could have problems with the GeForce3 until you update its AGP drivers.
