P.S. These doesn't seem to work very well, do you know another source, maybe reference/tweaked ? I found alot at savagenews, now having some "good" time testing them all http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

ND, did you flash the latest video bios too? Last time I check, it was at 2.35.

This card has caused me hours of grief! I hope you have better luck than I did.

I flashed it with the latest BIOS available at Diamonds' site, do you have any better working versions ? In that case, do you mind posting the links here ? http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

Looks like the A90 BIOS on Diamond's site is still at version 2.35e. This doesn't surprise me since they probably cancelled all development of the drivers when the video chipset business was sold off to VIA.

I also have version 2.36e but it's buggy as hell. I think it's some sort of beta driver. It's worse than 2.35.

Have you tried the 82025 drivers for win9x?

Yep, flashed to 2.36 but if you say so will go back to 2.35 ...
Tried 8.20.25, still no good, in UT and other games/benchmarks then card pauses each 2 seconds and the resumes http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

PLZ HELP !

Hmmm... well you've probably tried these already but it's worth mentioning anyway:

Turn off AGP4x.
Make sure it has it's own IRQ.
Install the latest chipset drivers.

You're not alone in this ND... I've had tons of problem with this card. I ended up giving it to my sister (hahahaha). She never does any gaming anyway.

I never used my Speedstar A90 for games but it gave me problems during installation of Windows 98 on my Asus P5-AB. It caused a black screen during the last 2 stages of installation from which i recovered from by
rebooting into safe mode and then rebooting again. I once updated to the last and latest
video bios which caused my system to shut down improperly (luckilly i backed up my original bios with dflash.exec and reflashed
it back again). The A90 is a bit buggy but it seems to be working good now. As far as new drivers, forget it SONICblue is no longer
supporting it , but i hope maybe Viatech will
release an updated driver some time.
