I have the ABIT KT7A-RAID motherboard and Voodoo5 5500.

In the bios I have the AGP 4x mode enabled and have fast writes on as well.

For the VIA 4in1 drivers I have the AGP driver set to Turbo, which I understood that it would automatically choose between 2x and 4x, and since all my bios options are set to 4x I hoped it would run in 4x mode.

However when I run WCPUID and look at the chipset information, or run Sisoft Sandra and look at the main board information, they both say that Fast Write's is supported yet disabled, and the AGP is running in 2x mode.

Why is it doing that? And how to I get it to run with fast writes on and the AGP in 4x mode?

Thanks for any help.

Your mobo is fine (same as mine http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif ), the problem is with the V5. I believe it's sixth post I telling ppl about all 3Dfx cards since Banshee were built on PCI architecture, and just ported to AGP slot. Because of it, it supports only AGP 2x, doesn't support neither "Fast Writes" nor "AGP Texturing" - when textures got stored in local system memory.
Yet, V5 5500 is fine card for itself http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
