How to turn on AGP 4x

My card is a Asus 7700 Delux abd it say that i can run it at 4XIve put the 6.3c drivers that came with the card everthing is working but 4X AGP my system is a BE6rev2 I want to run it at 4X how do i trun sideband on r what ever i need to

in your bios chipset configuration there should be an option for AGP speed

i went inyo the bios and they had a option for fast writes but nothing about going to 2x or 4x mode

Fastwrites is different but turn it on if you can cause it'll increase framerates. That board doesn't support AGPX4. It's maxed out a AGPX2.Sorry.

Yep, he's right! There is no support for AGP 4X on the BE6-II Rev.2. Nor is there a BIOS update that will enable it.

But from my testing on 3DMark 2000 and 2001, there was very little difference between setting the AGP from 2X to 4X. Yeah, I know... 2 X 66Mhz = 132Mhz & 4 X 66Mhz = 264Mhz... But I noticed about 5% difference in benchmark... For all you people who doubt my testing, try for yourself and see...

There's little difference between speeds because the graphics textures rarely (if ever) overflow the local, 166-400MHz (or whatever) vid card memory. AGP speed only applies when storing or retrieving textures from system RAM, which only happens when they won't fit in onboard memory. AGP is actually rarely if ever used anymore (but it was a big deal when we only had 4MB of video memory).

... and when video card memory was hardly any faster than system memory. That's exactly the point - AGP transfer speed doesn't matter at all anymore.

Lsim, ye olde Intel BX chipset simply doesn't have 4x AGP. But don't despair, it's pointless anyway.

Thanks guys for info it helped I just put in a new geforce v7700 delelux and it rocks compared to the tnt2 ultra .Also the 3d glaSSES good also i couldnt belive how good it looks
