I have Dish Network and would like to split the cable so I can attach it to my TV card.Problem is though, that I can't get the signal from the dish when i put the splitter on.Does anybody have any suggestions or will this work? Thanks

The box that came with your dish system is called a block down converter. It converts the Ghz range signal from the sattelite to a signal that your TV can recognize.

Splitting the cable that goes from the dish to the converter box will not work. For one thing, the splitter you are using is probably designed for a different frequency range. You need to split the signal that goes from the converter box to your TV. It's the only way to do it, unless you buy another converter box.
