Hi,

My dad owns a ASUS V3400TNT card and is using it to add .jpg pics to his VCR recordings but the images on the TV come out to bright. He has lowered the gamma, brightness and contrast as far as it can go. Anyone know how I can solve this, thanks in advance.

I had a V3800UD, has he tried altering the brightness, contrast settings on both the TV and videocard settings?

We have altered the brightness, contrast on the card as much as possible (via software control) but we don't want to adjust the TV settings. He sells the VHS tapes to customers and doesn't want to ask every customer to tweak their TV just for his VHS copies.

Basically we need a better way to lower the contrast of the TV out for the TNT card BEYOND what the installed software allows. Tweaking the TV settings isn't an option. Thanks.

You can get an Adobe Gamma control program that adjusts your monitor, however I am not sure if it let you adjust your videocard settings.

Edit the images in a batch converter to lower the brightness from the images themselves.

I'll wager Muno was right. Also check your scanner settings.

another thing, if your computer brightness and contrast is too low or flat, high or too bright, you will not be sitting on an accurate platform for judging the quality of the photos you are trying to transfer. They will all be adjusted to look good only on your computer monitor screen. They will seem to look awful on every other screen but that one. Hope that helps too http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
