I have a Viper II. I cannot answer your question directly but here is what i do know. I hook up to my TV through the S-Video out on my Viper II to watch DVDs. I have noticed that if i leave my TV on the aux channel and i reboot my PC, then it will send a signal to both my PC monitor and the TV. It will show the POST and Windows98 screen. When it starts to load my desk top, that is when it will switch to monitor only. Now i am sure that if you set it up to dispaly only on your TV, you can do so without having to have the monitor hooked up.
