I am building a new computer mainly for image editing and graphics work, and plan to expand into video editing. Ideally I would like one card that gives me video input/output and a tv tuner all in one card but am primarily interested in quality video input/output.

The new computer is a Thunderbird 950Mhz running windows 2000 with 768Mb RAM and twin 40Gb HD's.

I have been leaning toward ATI but am not set on anything in particular. Can someone who has been there before give me some insight please? Thanks for the assistance.

The best consumer level video rig out right now is the Matrox RT2000. Those are around $1000, but well worth it if you plan to do any real editing.

At a lower price range, they offer G400Marvel, G400+RainbowRunner-G add-on, and the soon to be released MarvelG450eTV.

Plus all of the above have Matrox's renowned visual quality for graphics/image editing, and DualHead features.

ATI or Matrox are your only choices if you want a TV tuner build in. Both have excellent image qualities.

I've had very good experience with the ATI Radeon All-In-Wonder AGP. Along with easy to use vid editing, inputs and outputs, and the TV tuner, the Radeon processor gives you great gaming performance.
