RobRich 03-17-2001, 05:22 PM These drivers are DirectX 8 optimzied drivers with advanced development support options for the GeForce-3 architecture. However, many of these options can also be enabled for the GF-256 and GF-2 as well. The D3D options include advanced w-buffer operations, z-buffer compression, DX video acceleration, and true dynamic FSAA rendering. OpenGL options include cleatstriping and fixed S3TC (DXT1-based)texture compression. To enable these option, I recommend using the GeForce Tweak Utility: http://www.3dchipset.com/utilities/nvidia/tweaking/gtu/index.html DX performance should be slightly faster as compared to the orginal DX 8 7.xx drivers. However, the major improvements are not with performance, but with rendering quality. By enabling the options I mentioned above, the visuals produced by the GeForce architecture are superb. W-buffering offers superior visual rendering for DirectX, assumg the software your using supports this option. Catch ya' later, Robert Richmond SysOpt.com
