Hello all-
I just got a DVD player in my machine. I have the Voodoo 3500TV with a Radius Precision View 17 monitor. Using the output pod to try and play DVD's or any display on both the TV and monitor doesn't work. The TV looks fine but the monitor display chops off the top and bottom with lots of color bands across the monitor. I've tried changing the refresh rates to no avail and redone the drivers a few times.
Is there a fix for this? I lost the user manual so can't find the help section, and it seems since 3dfx is no more you can't find the manual online.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I just replaced my 3500 yesterday.
The chopping off at the top &bottom are normal,I allways had some distortion on my
monitor when using the tv you might try
lowering your screen resolution to 600x800 or 480x640 I know this sucks but if you use
the tv out it trys to run your monitor at the same resolution. My new all in wonder
radion also chops off the top and bottom too

I think that's how the V3 3500 is supposed to be. My 3500 did the same when I tried it with TV-OUT and was all discolored and jagged-lined on my monitor, plus the TV output was disguisting.
I later sold my 3500 to buy a G450 and it does both TV and monitor clearly with no problems, though the text is still fuzzy on TV, but that's life. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

As a former Voodoo3 3500 user, I can tell you the online manual was no help anyway. They say to enable PAL, then re-enable NTSC, restart, some wierd process which didn't work anyway. For me it was one or the other, not both.

Thanks for the info! Maybe I'll just sell the card and pick up a G450. The G450 fills the screen OK on both monitor and TV?
I can't believe 3dfx tried to cram all this stuff into the card. Seems to do most things OK, a few things not at all, and shines in no one particular area. Maybe has something to do with why they went under?
Thanks again anyhow.

Well, just like any TV-OUT card (I think) it's not gonna fill the TV 100%, but matrox is considered to be the best with TV-OUT. Just try a matrox but keep the recipt handy and stickers intact.
Edit: Yeah, the matrox does fill the monitor pretty well of course. Plus the DVD will work out very well, but not as perfect as table-top DVD.

If you are still interested in buying a G450 32MB DDR OEM, it's now $108 @ axiontech, place where I bought mine.
Dangit, I got mine for $136 only a month and a half ago! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif
