I'm looking at getting a 64Mb Geforce2 Ultra based on their great reviews. I see that there is about a $100 range on these types of cards from between $400 & %500. My question is, is there a noticable difference between the more expensive, say, Elsa Gladiac Ultra cards and the cheaper Hercules Prophet that seems to have roughly the same specs. I understand that nVidea left very little elbow room in tweaking their chipset but then how do you explain the cost difference? Thanks, Fritz

Differences in prices are down to features like TV-out etc, 3D-Glasses.
Performance differences between boards is no more than three or four frames per second. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
Agreed, but yet one little difference is overclockability of the cards.
Almost all Ultra cards I saw were equiped with same EliteMT 4ns DDR SDRAM, but somehow, maybe due to PCB design, chip/memory heatsinks or fan, some cards just go higher than others. I guess, it worth picking 460 MHz clocked card, when you know you can push it up to 520, instead of some 500 MHz card while you can't squeeze nothing more than that.
It's not a commercial, but ... I got Leadtek Winfast GTS, clocked it 225/420, and I saw some reviews where Leadtek Ultra was the best card for o/c ... but don't just count on me, better check it yourself at http://www.tomshardware.com , http://www.sharkyextreme.com and whatever you find ...
Best Regards ...

The Leadtek Winfast Geforce2 Ultra's are very sweet indeed. The leadtek I bought has bonuses such as digital output for flat screen monitors as well as tv-out. As far as overclocking, I've had my memory up to around 520MHz stable.
