Hi
I have an computer with a sounblaster pci128
and win98. I want to play my mp3īs on my computer but through my stereo.
I bought the correct cable in my local datastore. Connected the cable:
From the SB128 line out (stereo, tape-deck as the manual says)
To my stereo line-in.
No sound.
Iīm asking myself if I must do some configuration in the multimedia applet in the control panel?
Can you guys help me out?
Thanks in advance!

Well, sounds like you did everything correctly..... you might want to look on your receiver/amp to see if there is a setting or switch you need to set to pick up the external sound input.

Try swapping it with the for the speaker out instead of line out. Make sure to have your stereo turned down low, since the speaker out pushes more wattage than the other. If you now have sound, then go to your volume properties and check to see if mute is selected for the line out. If so, deselect mute, then move your cable back to the line out. I know this seems rather simplistic, but this has happened to me numerous times in the past.

Those settings in the mixer control panel also seem to be very good at mysteriously changing themselves without any user assitance as well...
