Help I only get 1500 3d marks on Geforce 2!

I only get 1500 3d marks on my Creative blaster Aniahlator 2 GTS with Geforce 2 chipset. It is a 32 meg card. My cpu is an AMD Spitfire 800mhz, and i have 128 megs of ram. Now i find this strange because my voodoo 3 used to give more marks than this!. Im even running the anihalator in 4X AGP, with fast write enabled. Any suggestions? It crawls in all my games.

Well for starters I can at least verify that it's way off the mark. I get 3300+ with my TNT2.

There must be something wrong. We'll try to help you out. Probably need some more details.

First, what drivers are you using?

I am using detonator 7.something now, and i have also tried 4.12 detonators. I also have DX8. I would really appreciate some assistance http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

There are probably traces of the V3 drivers left.I had the same thing when I want from a Rage Fury to a GeForce256.Look in 'software' in configurations and remove all V3 stuff you can find.

Get rid of all your Det 7.XX drivers. They are all **** so far. The best versions are the 6.3X drivers. Check your registry for any V3 related settings and delete it only if your comfortable working in the registry. There is also a lot of bios options you can enable and disable to increase your score. I don't have the A7V but I'm positive some of settings are standard on all mobo's.
email me if you want the bios options that I found make a increase in score. Last of all, check out this article.

I have tried many of these things. I have disabled fastwrites, and AGP 4X, no diff. It is not a conflict with the V3 because i had it on my old machine. My annhialator 2 is on my brand new machine, it is the first vid card ever to be installed on it.

There must be a really drastic option that im missing, i do not think its just a matter of optimizing for a few more fps. There is something more wrong than that if i get a tnt2 score in 3dmark, and all my games are jerky dont you think?

I think i may have figured out part of the problem. Instead of installing the creative drivers for my vid card when i booted up for the first time i installed these => http://www.geforce.com/products.nsf/htmlmedia/detonator3.html

But i just noticed on this page that it says driver UPGRADE. would installing an upgrade before normal drivers do this??

Actually those drivers should work ok for you.

Important question: what motherboard are you running?

other questions:
- do you have your desktop set at 16-bit color? if not then do so.
- are you running the default 3DMark benchmark? Make sure you are.
- is anything running in the background? close everything but 3DMark2000.


(fyi, you're not getting a TNT2 score, you're getting half a TNT2 score...actually not quite even half.)

Just a note: with your GTS video card the score we are shooting for is anything over 6000. That's what you should be getting, maybe even approaching 7000.

I have an Asus A7v mobo, and i am at 16 bit colour.

I reformatted, and am using the default CREATIVE drivers now, I still get 1500 3dmarks, but when i turn off V-sync I now get 3000 3d marks, but i guess that is still way slower than it is supposed to be. Heeelp, i have tried everything http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Make sure you have the latest 4in1 drivers installed, they make all the difference.

I have had the v7700 for a while, and only got around 1400 with my duron 750.
When I installed the 4in1 drivers, my scores went up to 6400.

Make sure ya have em installed.

Last night i fixed my problem!. I found out that IF you install USB supliment for win95 OSR2 then AGB automatically enables itself!!!, the reason it was not working was because i had not installed USB drivers. Dont ask me what the 2 have to do with each other but now AGP 4X is highlighted and i get 6200 3dmarks!!!!!!, But unfortunately No one lives forever still jerks http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif

Well after building my machine, i was sorta out of dough http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif so I had to use win 95 from my old machine, since it was broken.

I now get 120-150 FPS in Elite Force (based on Quake III engine) With 32 bit colour, 32-bit textures and 1024*768.

Unfortunately, my lithtech based game, knowone lives forever, which uses Direct3D, still crawls http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif

Maybe there are game specific tweaks you can do to make it play better, like precaching the levels or whatnot. Try posting the question in the gaming forum &/or search the internet for other sites dealing with this game.

Unfortunately I just tried another D3D game. I realized that OpenGl games work wonderfully, but all my D3d games crawl. I have updated Direct X, but it doesnt seem to help http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif

Hey i just found a copy of 3dmark99 (cuz 2000 wont run on my system, no MMX), i got a score of 1099. So yeh if u only getting 1500 with a gf2 theres sumfin wrong, heres my system: pentium1 133Mhz, 64Mb Ram, voodoo2 SLI, so yeh if that can almost keep up with 800Mhz + gf2 something was definatly wrong.
