Like the header says, do you spend to much time at your computer? Well if you do, then this could be your fate:

Just something to think about.

That's a little extreme for me...but I do admit during the holidays I was on the computer for 3 days straight getting only 4 hours of sleep and two meals. I had just recieved the internet on my computer and I had been overwhelmed. I had probably visited 1/3 of all the websites on the net!!!

Well...maybe not that much, but I saw a lot! Just wait till I get DSL or cable modem...Uh oh!!

BTW, Is it true that your eyesight can worsen if u view ur monitor for extended periods of time?

eyesight gets bad the more you use the system, but there again it gets bad any way, the older you get, so you can either die of a heart attack, go blind, or both, who wants to live forever,

I couldn't get the link to load. but, I do know about the eye part. I spend average 14/16 hrs a day 6/7 days week. and I just got new glasses. and have used the computer glass since they came out. and last week eye exams showed a almost 50% lose from last year test. and they told me I need to come back every 6 months now.

I probably do spend too much time in front of the comp. It's a good thing that I have school to go to, otherwise I'd be on it all the time!

I use my computer at work, I use my computer at home, I use a my laptop when on the road... I have been permanently attached to my computer. I am wondering if moving to a small underdeveloped country with white sandy beaches and no telephones is the answer.

Hey WW - do what I do: Have a glass of red wine to help stave off the heart attack while reading through SysOpt. Great way to spend an evening and do something good for your health <G>.

Hello,

Good advice Chef Mark.

Problem is - if I want to study (properly) I have to spend more and more time at front of the monitor.

I'm bringing back this old post, since I tried a little experiment. I didn't have any work lined up this week, plus I'm on the back end of spring break. I have actually went nearly five days (5 DAYS!!!!) without a computer. No email, no internet, no gaming, nothing! I did suffer some withdraw symptoms intially, but I found that I could still easily exist. I've been working on my car, playing cards, reading, and even mountain hiking. Now since my experiment is over, I think I can get back to my regular life, which includes 300+ hours on a computer each month (work, personal, etc.).]

As for those that didn't get to see the story, it was about a guy dying of a heart attack because he was gaming on his computer for something like 3 days straight. It was said that he would commonly not eat or sleep for days, for he was addicted to computer games.
