I read the user reviews on this card.
Question, is this type card what I NEED to do Photo enhancements and some light gaming ?
(for $60)
Is Diamond a reputable mfg,
Do they stand behind the product
Is there lots of problems with the Hardware
????
I saw where the drivers that come with it are junk, n/p I'll grab some off line.
comments ?
thanks

Photo Enhancements are more reliant on the processor and memory. I do some photo editing which involves working with files that are 40MB or more. Stuff like rotating involve the processor. Since the files may be large, having 128MB+ of memory is very helpful to avoid swapping to the hard drive, which brings the process to a crawl.
I could do photo editing on an 8MB video card; the Viper II should be fine for gaming. It's no Geforce, but it'll do games well enough.

The Viper will definitely suit your needs. I do a lot of photo editing with Photoshop, with many of the pictures being 50-100MB in size, and the Viper does a great job.
I have found that more RAM helps speed things up when processing large images, so I run 512MB.
I run some pretty heavy games as well (Q3 Arena, Deus Ex, Soldier of Fortune, etc.) and the Viper performs flawlessly, even with all the settings maxed out.
The drivers that come with the card are indeed junk, but the newer ones all work great.
The Viper is a great card for a great price, so I say go for it!

Anyone know of "REPUTABLE" DEALER with deals on same or similar card ?
Pricewatch is a conglomeration of dealers that post a good price.
My experience with some has been disheartening to say the least.
Often these dealers DO NOT have the merchandise available to ship.
Positive Experience Please
DrVette
all my experiences at pricewatch have been good thats why i recommended.

Well, how about some links to these positive experiences.
ecost.com suckered me
mcglen.com and I had a disagreement
amazon.com claimed to have in stock but didn't
egghead.com ditto
I do a lot of on-line buying , I don't have time to weed through all the fly-by-night dealers who THINK they might be able to get an item,, sometime. All the while I'm held up waiting for parts..
Thanks anyway..

You can also get the Viper II from www.mwave.com (http://www.mwave.com) for about $65.
Good people to do business with- keep them in mind if computers4sure is sold out of the Vipers...
