After installing my new ATI AIW 128 PCI, I get the following when trying to run the TV tuner software :

"The TV player failed to initialize the video. Ensure the correct video drivers have been installed and close any applications which may be playing video before attempting to restart TV"

I have reinstalled the latest drivers from ATI several times to no avail. I received a similar 'driver in use' message with a Hauppauge WinTV-USB product, so i figure my problem must be local.

OS : Win98 SP1
IBM PC300XL 6588-42U
PII 266MMX 98MB

Might be a bad driver install. Try unistalling all the ATI utils, and setting your adapter to stander VGA. The reinstalling it all.

Thanks for the reply. I've tried uninstalling and setting the adapter to standard VGA and re-insalling but still no luck. I might try it one more time for the sake of desperation.

Here's few more "theories of the day":
1. My IBM 300XL has an on-board video card that is disabled in the Win98 Device Manager, but I'm not 100% sure it's not trying to interfere in some way.
2. I used to have a Creative Labs Parallel-Port Web Cam. All the software is uninstalled but it still shows up in the various video capture apps I've tried as a video source. Must still be in the registry somewhere.

Gonna try re-installing first though.

ATI has a great "fix it and faqs" section, check it out...(I use an AGP allinone myself)

I would love to find out how you resolved this issue.

I'm having the exact some problem.....as well as my video capture not working. (Oddly enough, though, WebTV works fine)
Initially I assumed it was just a question of WinME catching up with the Driver situation, but all the newest drivers (both from ATI and MS) still cause the same errors.

Thanks
