voodoo 5 5500 agp no cold boot

I got this card from a friend who thought he smoked it from to much overclocking.after i removed both heatsinks cleaned it up and put them back on it works great.but the problem that it has, which it had before ,is that it will not boot cold ,without locking up.I have to reboot 2 to 3 times before it runs.
was just curious as to why this was?
after im into windows it run fine.

It sounds like it has some major problems from the o/c'ing your friend did.

I'd start looking for a new vid card. It's proabably not going to hold up for long. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif

Uhh I doubt this will do anything but have you tryed underclocking it?

BTW you said you took off the HS's cleaned ect? They are after market HS's yes? If so what kind and well... are they any good? Just curious have been thinking of getting some after the holidaze.
