I'm looking for a monitor, and I think I found a good one. The only problem is the dot-pitch. It seems a little high, but I'm not really sure. What do you think:

CRT TYPE: 19" (18.0" diagonal viewable area)
90 degree deflection
Dot Pitch 0.22mm Horizontal, 0.14mm Vertical, 0.26mm Diagonal
Phosphor RGB P22 medium-short persistence
Glass Surface Tint (TM=52%) anti-static, anti-reflection coating

Thanks.

I wouldn't worry about the vertical and horizontal dp. The diagonal is the most important. At .26 it would be ok, but isn't real great compared to other 19 inch monitors. I've seen .22 and .23.

It all depends on how it looks to your eyes. What are you planning on doing with it? Games and other high end graphics or general everyday use? Let your eyes decide if it will fit your needs more than the price. it also depends on what video card you are using. If you are using a $25 card, this monitor will be more than good enough. good luck, steve..

The thing that gets me is that this is a small dot-pitch compaired to the other monitors. Most were from 25 to 28.

I wish we had standards that would be industry wide on obtaining specificatons.

Some makers have great numbers, but the end results often are not what the numbers crack the item up to be.

Item in Point.
We have some new Dell "Grid" type monitors at work.

These have great numbers, but I prefer my KDS el-cheapo 19" or 17" to these units by far.

If you read the specs, the Dell's outta look clearer. They don't to me.

Also my 17" HP monitor is GREAT too.
It was only $129.00 shipped.

I don't know what good the grill type monitor is supposed to be, but I don't care for them.

Isnt it the smaller the better on the dot pitch?

Richard: I think the "grill" type is the aperture grill of the trinitron flatscreens. The problem with those is that they get less sharp on the corners of the screen.

Yea, the smaller the dot pitch, the sharper the image. .26 isnt all that great. I wouldnt buy that, I would opt for .25 or below.

BTW- This one look good?- here (http://www.lgeus.com/915ft.asp) It says its dp is .24 stripe (which is good), but is that diagonal?
