I love Krueger and Dorfmeister, Moby, Massive Attack. If you want me to send you a cd or two let me know. Dave Joel Kleppinger 03-22-2000, 11:15 PM Some of it, but the problem is there are too many people not being original enough in the genre. They spend a day putting together loops and then another 10 minutes writing lyrics, and they call it music. I definitely appreciate good techno, but it'd better be more than just a few layered loops... I want to constantly be hearing new things on every listen. The music has to do something for me. oblivion 03-22-2000, 11:33 PM I do not go much for the kind with words in it.....but more for teither DJs that have mad mixing skills.....of the ones that do live sets, making the music on the fly.....there is alot of BS in the genre,I agree....the best DJs I have heard have insane skills with matching and meshing beats together.... It truely takes alot of skills to mix records live and make them sound superb...any fool can go into a studio and make a sampled record....but it takes a skillfull live artist to make a party move all with a night with a mad passion, and a feeling of good vibes and music rolling...... If you know what I mean. U-96 03-23-2000, 01:37 AM Can't say I'm much into that D&B/trance type electronica though - I agree with Joel on his points... face it oblivion, you're just a trippin' bass-head http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif I prefer artists that work in loops and samples and a good bit of flanging into a decent tune, together with their own work: Depeche Mode, Laibach, Front 242, Moby, U-96, Air, Leftfield, Tangerine Dream (early stuff), and the Prodigy U-96 Dzokayi 03-23-2000, 02:29 PM I really enjoy the trance music... some of the tracks I play the most right now are: Amber by Natious Exceptionally Beautiful by Loop Control Dream Universe by C.M. Walhalla by Gouryella Neuro by the X-Cabs Barber's Adagio for Strings by William Orbit (Ferry Corsten remix) These are just a few of many. I find it's also pretty safe to pick up stuff I haven't heard just by the remixers reputation... Ferry Corsten, DJ Tiesto, and a few others... Wiz 03-24-2000, 12:01 AM Prodigy and skinny puppy, the greatest! daveleau 03-24-2000, 12:05 AM More techno, but I love NIN too. Yeah, my roommate has done some stuff on his computer with loops. He tries to be original but... It sounds pretty good though. I am still more of a metal head. While I enjoy this stuff, I'll take Korn, or Static X or the like anyday. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Dave alpha 03-24-2000, 12:09 AM I like Trance/Dance/ministry of sound stuff, though Mark McCabe is cool. I'm majorly into traditional Irish music, though! I play the piano, melodeon, recorder, tin whistle and accordian! SysOpt.com
