My thoughts on this new forum

First off, its a great idea! Like Scott and Joel have already said, its nice to have a place to ask peoples opinions on things not directly computer related. Gives us a chance to learn more about our fellow sysopt brothers and sisters.

But I also want to say that this new forum is a privilege for the members and not something to treat flippantly. While it will have great results, it has the chance to turn into a "rant/rave" or a "useless forum" if we aren't careful. And all thats going to do is cause unneeded aggravation for the sysopt trinity (Scott, Joel, and Socalgal).

Ps- I also think its a good idea to stick in in the middle of all the forums instead of at the top....Keeps it apart from general discussion.

Chip, no one flames here because of socalgal (Kahn!!!!!!!) but point taken. I have to say, when I saw the title, I didn't even think of a flame board, I thought of a forum full of intellectually stimulating conversations about the complexities of the it world...
