Im in the market for a new video card. I dont play any games at all so im not worried about frame rates and such. I do a ton of work in photoshop and similar programs. Would like to keep the cost below $100. Basically im looking for a card that is more stable and cost effective than anything else. It will be on this system:
Athlon 900
Abit ka7
256mb pc133

If i can find a good card for less than $75, i am going to buy 2 (1 agp, 1 pci) to do a dual monitor setup for when i do coding. I dont plan on doing any real overclocking, maybe a few bios tweaks but thats about it. Extra features like tv-out are unimportant also.
Feel free to shoot me some ideas on what to look at. Thanks in advance.

I'd definitely check out the Matrox G400 dual head. It has two monitor outputs so you dont need to waste a PCI slot. I'm not exactly sure on the cost, but its around 100.

Search Pricewatch for it... Its cheaper than buying 2 75 dollar cards. =)

I'll agree with the Matrox DualHead solution if you are planning to run multiple monitors. I have a G400 and a G450, and love em. I use the G400 at home, with my 31"TV hooked up as my second display. At work I use 2 monitors for AutoCAD. Nobody touches Matrox when it comes to image clarity and color saturation, especially at high resolutions.

I will point out that you won't find a DualHead model of these cards for $100, unless you find a used one. DualHead G450 is $145, and currently is very hard to find. G400 DH is $179.

Thanks for the replies guys. after starting this thread i went out to do some more research and stumbled across the matrox dualheads. Was just coming back here to see if anybody had opinions on them and i already had two before i even asked. I think im going save a few more dollars and go with the G400.
