I guess the subject gave away the question.
anyways:

I have the 6800 Pure and found 532's fast and stable and am using the 618 drivers now which are fast and stable but do have a slight tearing at times. (not often)

I have found that the Asus 3.79 drivers give the better performance.

Where are you getting these drivers?
I was only able to find the Detonator 3 v6.18 from the nvidia.com and 3.75 from asus.com

click on "go back to Driver Library" then "Download Detonator 2" for 532 drivers
http://www.nvidia.com/products.nsf/htmlmedia/detonator3.html
The 379 are for Win 2k

I've tried the 6.18 but liked the Asus Control Panel in the system tray. so that's why i'm still on the 3.75
Does Asus have better drivers?

The Detonator 6.18's are probably the best available. They do a nice job of allocating memory throughput. More efficient memory bandwidth than previous drivers.

NeoMadHatter...this is Pete...I'm using an Asus V7700 GTS II now with Thunderbird 900@1000, Abit KT7RAID, 256 mb Mushkin REV 2 ram, Maxtor 7200rpm 13.6, and guess what...I just cracked the "8000" point level in standard 1024x768x16 3DMark 2000 benchmark using Detonator 3 6.18 drivers. I could only get 7780 with Asus 5.33a drivers, but 8085 with the new D3 drivers. So I highly recommend the new D3's from Nvidia. Good luck.

Mad Hatter, Asus has had 3.79 drivers out for a while, and you can also try their Beta drivers as well, which are usually pretty good.

I believe Asus 3.79 are only to be used in Windows 2000 environment.

You should also look into 6.27/6.31. They are quite sufficient, perhaps better than the 6.18's. But you know what, it basically comes down to stability and personal liking. You really can't go wrong with any, unless your setup becomes unstable. Good luck.

Thanks guys,
I'm going to try the Detonator 3 v6.18 again. maybe I'll stay with team. I'm also going to try the v6.31 and v6.27 and see what I get.

Pete,
You gave up on the Matrox G450?

Johnny:
For now I did. I was detered by the fact that the G450 did not get along with some pro sound cards. Go figure. I will wait a bit until things clear. But otherwise, i'm still enjoying an asus product. Later man.
