alright, I've got a 15 inch magnavox monitor that has simply terrible brightness, I can see hardly anything in UT. I've tried powerstrip, but when I start a game in UT, it reverses the changes itself, giving me the same old terrible brightness and gamma. I can't increase the gamma in ut any more than it is, and the gamma levels in my 3dfx (voodo 3 btw) are set to their highest, yet still, nothing. anyone know any way to increase the gamma? i'm trying to run ut in 512x384 if that helps...

I once had that to with a monitor. The brightness just couldn't go far enough. You have to open the monitor up.Inside you can change everithing:color, brightness, contrast.
But you can also do this with software.Usually you can change all these things in your displays properties. From there you go to 'settings' and then you push the button 'advanced' and ther you can choose 'color' there you can change the brightness. You will only have this if you use specific drivers for your videocard, even the drivers windows installs when it has detected your card will not allow you to change brightness.
