ASUS V7700 GeForce GTS Pure VC

I'm in the process of putting together a new computer. My question is, do I need to use the decoder card I received with the Creative labs 12x DVD rom drive or will the ASUS V7700 Graphics card be able to run the DVD without the Decoder card? I know that the 2 cards can be linked together. Just don't want to clutter up the machine with something thats not needed.

I don't believe any Geforce has DVD decoding, so for better playback, I'd put it in.

You could try it without the card. The card might make it run smoother though.

that all depends on the CPU you plan to run it on if it will be 400 MHz or faster don't bother with the decoder card as you will see no difference in the quality of the playback with a fast CPU .Your CPU will have to work a little harder to play it.I got decoder on video card and don't even use it as the CPU do'es a better job by far and i run a Radeon with Athlon 750 @ 1102
