I need to reformat the drives on a couple of computers and reinstall Win 98 etc...
How can I save the Bookmarks or Favorites in IE5 or Netscape?
Are these located in one file which I could save on a floppy?
Is there a way to "paste" them to a clipboard, then later copy them back once I have reinstalled everything?

Also, In Eudora can I save the Address book?

Any help is appreciated.

Don't know about IE, but with Netscape all the bookmarks and mail are located in Program Files\Netscape\Communicator\User.

Not to familair with Netscape but for OE you could export them to a floppy and then import them back after the reinstall. This may help, If you want to do them all at once, make note of the registry keys to save from the old system. (This is for IE and OE 5.x)

Hope that helps. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Edit- Sorry, I misread your post. That link is for Outlook Express Mail and address book.

With Favorites you just copy the favorites folder in the windows folder. It has a blue * in the center of it. What I do is copy them and upload them to a place like www.freedisk.com (http://www.freedisk.com)

I can't remember how to save eudora's address book. But I am sure you can somehow.
I think there is a way to export them as a text file.

With Internet Explorer open, click on File. You will see the import/export, click on this and follow the wizard. It will let you copy them to a floppy or what ever back-up device you have. In Outlook Express, open your address book, click on file and hold cursor over export, you will see address book. Select Address book and choose where you want to save it to.
