I was in the middle of a game of counter-strike and all of the sudden my screen display went red. I can still see everything on the screen, but instead of all the colors i only have red-scale. i know it's not my monitor because i hooked up my other computer and the color is still great. here's my question

did i fry my video card?

i've never heard of somebody burning out their video card and only having one color. yes, i do overclock. i have my tnt2ultra set at 170/206. i tried clocking it back down and restarting, but to no avail. i can't really afford another video card right now... i hope that you'all have some ideas. oh yeah, i'm running the 3.72 detonators. thanks for any help.

If you had fried your card you would not be getting any picture what so ever on your monitor

ok... that's what i was thinking too, but i'm not completely sure taht's true. another point worth mentioning is that when i turn on the computer, the bios screen and boot up screen are also all in red-scale. if anybody has any suggestions at all that'd be great!
thanks

Do you have a different computer you can try hooking the card into? Maybe check the settings and see if there is a way to change the color display of the card. Only other thing I can think of is changing the color temp on monitor.

Sounds like the monitor might be dying. Does your video card allow you to change color balance? If so, try changing the various sliders individually, and see if any one of the red, blue, or green sliders has no effect. My dad's monitor suddenly turned yellowish-green one day. The red and green sliders produced a change - the blue slider did nothing. His monitor had apparently lost the ability to light up the blue pixels. Anything that was a pure blue color now appeared as black. Perhaps your monitor has failed in a similar fashion.

as dumb as this may sound... somehow the cable connected to the back of my actual cpu came loose... and all that was getting through was the red signal. i guess this just goes to show that the first question you should always ask yourself is "is everything connected and plugged in?!?!" thanks again to all who responded!

It is the Monitor and not the Card.I had the same Problem but with the Blue, until I changed tne Monitor.
Try to changed the monitor and see if it works good. OK?

If you don't have a another card why did you OC'?! I really don't think the video card would go out unless you overturned it. If you tested the monitor with another computer and looked fine it's not the monitor. Check the cables from the monitor, pins could not be touching. Try another cable if you have one. Turn your system off and make sure the card didn't pop out from tightening the screws too much. I've seen that happen.
Hope it's a cable and not your vid card since it's your only one!
