Does anyone know the process to go through to register a domain name and get webspace? And how much does it cost to buy a domain name?

Registering domain names is 70 bucks through Internic. That lasts 2 years. Then you gotta pay them again. Registration is supposed to get cheaper as competitors are added, not sure when that is going to take place. Web hosting (getting an IP address for your web page and putting files on their server) can go anywhere from 8 bucks a month up.

Actually, it's already much cheaper.

I registered 4 domains at www.domainmonger.com (http://www.domainmonger.com) at $17/year apiece.

Now I need to find very cheap or free webspace that will handle it. (with no popups or frames)

Joel, I use Hostsave (http://www.hostsave.com) for my domain it has great services and it's only 6.95 a month. I love it

This is going to hurt the cybersquatter situation. Everytime a legitimate business or individual wants to start a site, they have to spend a week brainstorming on derivations of a name just to find one that isn't registered. 9 times out of 10, the registered names are not being used or are blatently for sale. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif The cheaper the domain names get, the worse the problem will become. I'm all for affordability but not for buying up 500 names and trying to get rich off of them.

I get domain in a bulk package rate(lots cheaper)
Should see the contract I have to get everyone to sign due to the cybersquat BS...
Basically it says if you get Mcdonalds and they take your site from you Dont sue me for getting it!!
