Hi all,
Just spent $400+ on the 3D Prophet II(64) and can't use the thing. I have it connected to a MITSUBISHI 2020u (Fairly new monitor). On initial boot-up the monitor flickers in and out of signal. When the pc runs for awhile (after I think the monitor is going to blow-up as it's turning off and on repeatedly). I get a message on the monitor saying to adjust the signal range (nothing else). I'm assuming this is when my OS kicks-in and adjusts to my preset resolution.
I know the card and monitor both work. I had a TNT2 Ultra before and it still works when I reconnect them, and I tried the Prophet II on an old 17 in DELL monitor and it ran fine.
Is there a way to adjust the signal range on the monitor or card? Any advise would help, I'd love to see this card on the bigger screen...

Sounds like your trying to run at a higher refresh rate/resolution then your monitor supports, does it do this from bootup on or just in windows? If in windows only, start in safe mode and turn the res/refresh down some. If its all the time, maybe try seeing if your monitor's menu lets you adjust these settings, though I dont think it does.

Thanks for the help!!
To answer your questions <<mad hampster>>, it does it from bootup http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif
I've checked the mitsubishi site to determine signal range...
here what they have to say on the specs..
(MPU-based H:30 to 121 kHz & V:50 - 160 Hz auto-scan range and high-performance 240 MHz video clock frequency
1800 x 1440/80 Hz high refresh rate maximum non-interlaced addressable resolution )...
I don't know what that all means, but it seems to be a multisync monitor that can support high resolutions.... hmmm. As soon as Mitsubishi gets back to me [Hopefully sometime before a Prophet 3 (128meg) card comes out, I'll have more answers.]
freem - i've been looking around for a solution for my problem and have found some good resources, this link may help you out... http://www.geforcefaq.com/#hw:gef:troub:blackout

huh, well cant be the monitor's fault then...hum that must be a hardware issue or something, there is no reason for it to happen on a monitor like that at bootup

hay thanks for the link i think the lack of power is probably it i have a 230 watt power supply and the noise is defenitly comming from the cooling fan on the vidio card. but after all is said and done i like it better than the voodoo 1 i used to have
I have the same problem with an older monitor. When installing 5.xx drivers, I have black screen (out of range sync), when using 3.xx just work fine.

Hi all,
I found a solution. The Mitsubishi Monitor has 5 BNC connections in the back. I took a chance and purchased a "monitor to 5 BNC cable" ummm.... $45 dollars for a 15 ft. It seems to work and work very well. Using the BNC connections seems to give a better screen quality to the monitor. Hopefully, this will work for awhile. I was wondering what the difference was between using the BNC plugs opposed to a regular VGA cable. I rather not stress the monitor too much....
any thoughts
