I know thers been some discussion about 19in. monitors here in the past couple days, but i would just like some more input from people on what they would suggest as a good/excellent 19inch monitor for under $500. This monitor would be used in college, so it needs to be as small as possible to fit in a dorm yet yeild very good text for the many many papers and programming that will be done on it and also good graphics for the games that will be played instead of writing the papers, LOL. THanks!!

I asked this same question about 1 month ago.. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/Forum4/HTML/002719.html
I was close to getting a viewsonic, but everytime I saw one I was not thuroughly impressed. I had seen a couple of Diamondtron CRT based monitors at work and in stores and I liked what I saw. I had also heard a lot of good things about the Diamondtron NF tube(upgade from standard diamondtron).
To make a long story short, I ended up getting the Mitsubishi Diamond Plus 91. http://www.mitsubishi-display.com/products/dplus91.html
I must say that I am VERY pleased. Text and graphics are both excellent.
It was $449.95, no tax, free overnight. For quality like this, it is a good deal.
