I've a problem with reference drivers 5.x and my viper v770... I can't change the resolution of my desktop!
Every time I change to 800x600 it keeps reseting to 640x480. I've tried with 5.08, 5.16, 5.22 but no luck. I'm currently using 3.77 and my old Samsung Syncmaster 3.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!
I've tried almost everything. Do any of you had this problem?

What kind of chipset do you have? If it keeps re-setting itself to low resolution and colors, you may need to "apply" a patch.
VIA chipsets are notorious for this. Check the disks that came with your machine. Or, go to VIA's website to get the latest 4 in 1 "patch." IF of course, you're using VIA. In any case, whatever chipset you're using, go to their website and see what they have.

Ghost Rider: I'm using a BX chipset (Soyo 6BA+ III), so the VIA stuff isn't an option http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif
But I'm able to change the bit depth (16, 32 bits) but not the resolution!
Cyclone2: I _think_ it didn't change my monitor settings (I'm currently away from that machine, but...)
Anyway, if anyone else has another idea on this it will be welcome!!

Make sure to re-install your monitor driver, as the nVidia installation has the bad habit of installing a Windows defualt monitor config. If that isn't the issue, then
you can try using HZ-Tool to correct the problem:
