Today, I finally got my 486DX4 laptop for $20. It's so **** cool, but it's not even working yet. I need insight as to why this thing isn't posting.

It's fine inside, everything checks out as far as I can see. I took it apart piece by pieve and re-built to fix any loose connections, but no go.

I get a power-on light, and a battery charge light, but nothing else. I get no display, and no HDD activity.

I will soon have some extra RAM to troubleshoot with, but I have no 486DX4-75 CPU to troubleshoot against.

I don't have any experince with laptop repair, and if anyone who does can give me some tips or insight, please do.

Thanks

Glad I got rid of my geforce ddr. This is way better.

A bit on the slow side, but hey who's complaining... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Good luck with yours.
