Has anyone used Paypal for online payments in auctions? Is it save and secure? Are there any hidden charges? What do you think overall?

Thank You

I have used PayPal several times for online transactions regarding buying and selling items from and to other BBS uers. Right now, most of the money that goes through my account is either from referrals, or from transactions. As far I can tell, it is secure.

I have heard of cash advance charges showing up on the credit card statements of people that have used PayPal, but I think it was a bug that has since been fixed.

Overall, I am impressed with PayPal. It allows for much greater turnaround for buying and selling goods online to other people, as well as for auctions.

Paypal is great in that it allows you to beam money to someone and cut your shipping times in half (as opposed to mailing a MO). I have found it to be secure so far, but the site is down too much for my liking. For instance, I could not edit my cc preferences earlier today, if only for about an hour, but this is an inconvenience. Overall, a very good service and it is free!

i have used paypal and have been happy with it. it is very fast and from what i've seen is secure. i have a separate bank account that i use a VisaŽ bank card with that i use for online purchases, and i only keep a small amount of money in it as i need it so i don't really worry too much about having my account information accessed.
