lapping a geforce ??

hmm im lapping my geforce II card
and im just wondering

am i gona see copper when i lap it?

or will my efforts to see copper kill the card ?

I think you are taking a big risk for a small decrease in temp. I would just attach a bigger hs&f than the stock one and you will notice a big difference.

Actually not lapping it but instead just removing the sticky enevenly applied glue from the surface before applying real haetsink compound and a good heatsink will be all that is needed. I used a product called Goof Off to disolve the junk. Worked great for me.

5c cooler now and i can oc the core 32mhz faster
