I am going through the process of downloading these right now. These new drivers are based on the nVidia 5.30 driver set. This is currently for just Creative Lab users (then again, you never know what I'll do http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif). They will also work for ANYONE thats currently using my edited TNT-2 Reference BIOS. I'll post some testing results later (probably tommorrow).

Before you install thes update drivers, you must be using a full install Creative driver set:
http://www.clok.creaf.com/creative/drivers/3db/tntaw9x.exe

These drivers also require Blaster Control to get full functionality:

I might be able cut a few steps out of that, but I'll hace to examine the files first.

Catch ya' later,

Well, that was too easy!

I already have a complete 5.30 reference driver install up and running. It will work with ANY supported nVidia card. It is composed of the 5.30 core files for 2D, DirextX, and OpenGL. I did have to use the 5.22 nVidia control panel, as Creative's base install lacks this option. I will be providng a link to these 5.30 drivers in a few minutes.

I've uploaded them to one of my web accounts for download. Get them here:

how do they compare to earlier drivers releases? anything new? more stable? faster....?

I won't be able to do any major testing, as I've got to be away today. From just playing acouple of games, the OpenGL driver is about 4-5% faster for me. D3D seemed to be slightly smoother, but max frame rates appeared to be the same.

BTW, I sent to my driver revision to 3dchipset.com. They were able to obtain the 5.30 control panel, and have substituted it in. Here's their link:

How about 5.30 for W2K?

I haven't seem any info on 5.30 for Win2K, yet http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif. I ask around and see if I can find anything.

As for 5.30, it does fix several issues. First, for GF owners, FSAA in D3D now works with a wide array of programs. It appears they have fixed many of the bugs and performance issues related to FSAA.

5.30 also fixes the annoying mipmapping issue that's been present in the 5.xx series. I can now use 12x mipmapping without any problems, and quality of the mipmapping seems to be much better in terms of visuals. It also didn't produce the extremely small misalignments like the 5.22 release does.

DirectX also is slightly faster for most. My scores only upped by a few points, but some people have noted a 200+ increase in 3dMark 2000.

As for OpenGL, I can't note any compatiblity or stablity differences with this release. Performance did increase in most apps, as my Quake engine games increased by 2-3 fps in most situations. Other programs appeared to be around 1-2% faster.

Well, for me (and this might be an isolated case) with the new 5.30 drivers I can load the ultra bios (for my v770Tnt2/32mB) and everything appears to be stable. 150/183 but I haven't tried any higher. It's a nice performance boost as well. I'm happy with it at ultra speeds (without lockups) i'm not going to push it
