Things I know I will not ever need
Sblive experiance, creative launchbar thingie, playcenter(it may come in handy but I doubt it),rythmania and keyter and the EAX demo.

Things I did not install, but I want to know more about thier usefulness
Midi samples, the soundfont showcase and the sound font banks.

What potential usefulness can the midi samples, the soundfont showcase and the soundfont banks have? Should I install these three things? Will I miss out on certain sounds in games and such? Will I be able to do less in the sblive studio with wav files?
What in laymens terms do these things do for me and possiblbe sound studio work? Should I install them?

I found the sblive to have a disgustingly
hugs 100meg install size, and by not installing all of there things I reduced the
install size to about 29,00k...that is alot better then 100megs of BS I will maybe not ever use......and this may not make sense, but it seemed like my soritong audio player actually sounded better after I reinstalled the bloatware and put the lighter install in.

Any thoughts/tips would be much appreciated!!!!

Yeh I hear ya. My own experience is some of it is cool, I like the creative launcher, its a taskbar that hides and I got all my office appz, Win appz, Norton tools and such on this - it saves me having 18~20 shortcuts on the desktop. The soundblster live has the surround sound equalizer and a couple of other programs I use regulary. I dont like change and I'm pretty set in my ways but I've learned to not fluff it off till I tried it! whats 100 meg when I got 20gigs ? There is stuff that I dont use but I usually load it all and evaluate its use to me.
I want you to know that this post is not intended to insult you just one mans opinion based on his own experiences http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

All I load is the drivers (not dos), and the surround mixer. I don't miss anything else.

Same here... lots of extra stuff not needed.I just made creative launcher an icon.
I use EAX for gaming though, depending on the game, and the mixer is good for placing the audio "sweet spot" on 4 speaker systems, but most of that stuff is fluff. I don't even use the liveware 3.0 download. Like Oblivion asked, does anyone use the sound fonts or create sound banks for any reason?

The sound fonts/sound banks are for you composers out there, the ones who create music on the computer. Those allow you to load/manipulate/save custom sets of sounds or instruments for use in your songs.

One thing I have been having fun with is Lava. Serves no useful purpose, but very cool to look at, especially if you're into real time 3D animation.
