Poll - What is your home page?

Mine would be Sysopt except that my wife uses my computer often and I don't want to get the new message indicators messed up. So I have it set Excite. I like the news and the way they display my stocks.

Mine is "about:blank" ;-) in IE. Somehow, I never really understood this habit of having homepages. I have quite a few favorite sites(sysopt being one of them), so I launch browser with blank page and then go to one of them, almost always a different one each time.

Daughters is set to Disney.com.

it was about:blank now it is and I am happy with its speed

if you want to have for a homepage do the following(it is essentially the same as about:blank,but it is instant,and bears nothing in the adress bar


right on your(shortcut to) internet explorer icon and go to properties
and change the target info to look like this exactly
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" -nohome


or basically add -nohome to the end of it

this is assuming you have ie in the default folder

I'm with Hamster and Outpatient. I find it much easier because I have a dial-up connection, and if I open up a web browser to preview some HTML pages, it doesn't give me all sorts of errors telling me I'm not connected, or it doesn't try and dial in the middle of something.

well... i'm pretty boring, so i just have it set to go to <A HREF="http://"http://www.hotmail.com/" TARGET=_blank>Hotmail</A>. I never even use hotmail, as i check it with OE 5.

i probably should just change it to blank or something local (like a page with a couple cool pics or something).

i guess i just leave it at that so that my dad can check his mail, though he has his own user name ("system" as he calls it).

and BTW, i don't bother with typing in sysopt or even having it as a favorite. i just have a link right on the toolbar at the bottom of my screen (in win98). http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif
