i have an old 14 inch from back in 92 and i was wondering if if you ran it at a higher refreshrate than it is supposed to have if it would bust or like blow up in my fase? i can run the monitor up to and including 100Hz but the picture don't take up the whole screen also i can run it up to about 1024x768 at this refresh rate what would happen to the thing if i ran it like this for a long period of itme?

I had a nice 17 inch Septer from the same era that I fried by having the refresh set too high over an extended period of time. I didn't realize it at the time, but I really had fair warning, it kept putting out a high pitched squeal which would go away if I lightly slapped the side of the monitor. Well I guess I should have taken note, 'cause it died not too long after. Dang thing cost me $800 back in those days.
Live and learn. I'd try to find a manual or some specs. that will give you the max refresh rates.
Best of luck,

I had a 14" from 92 that died in 5 seconds, from a refresh rate problem. The squeal started at my WinNT boot up, I raced to turn off the power, but did not make it in time. The room stank of burnt ICs and metal for a week. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif
