I have a server at work that I administer. It serves email, webpages, and ftp. Unfortunatly it is on an NT box so it crashes every once in a while(about twice per month). Sometimes I don't notice it immediately and people get upset. Is there any kind of program I could run from my computer at home that would ping the server or something every so often and alert me if it is not up?

There should be some kind of program doing that... but I don't know about any.
But hey, why not install ICQ on both machines? Different UIN of course. Then you would be able to see if the server is online.
Thanks for the suggestion, but I see ICQ as a security risk. I hear stories of people getting hacked through it on a daily basis. I guess I will just keep visitng the page http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
